Kharif season of 2019 washout

Farmers are dependent on monsoon for Kharif crops and largely follow weather forecast by IMD (India Meteorological Department).

Kharif season is June to October.

June 2019 was completely dry, and farmers kept waiting with hopes of rain until first week of July and could not start sowing seeds.

Then comes heavy rainfall suddenly in July and continue in August too. The farmers could not sow seeds in heavy rainfall, and it looks entire Kharif crops of 2019 stands lost.

The irregularities of monsoon since past several years certainly need accurate weather forecast by IMD in this satellite era to help farmers for safer Kharif crops.
